From the outskirts of England's capital, the four piece band "The Lime Stones" have just released their debut single "Better With Me".

The track sets off with drums, slowly transitioning into loud guitar. My immediate thoughts whilst listening for the first time was that this song has definitely taken inspiration from Arctic Monkey's debut album "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not" with a blend of The Lime Stone's own original sound. The uniqueness of this track really resonates with me, if "oh my, I have only listened to 2 minutes of this song and I already want to see this band live" could be a genre, this band would 100% fall under it.

The underlying tone of the track follows the lead singer yearning, it's kind of a love song about not being ashamed of loving someone unconditionally. This is shown through lyrics such as "I see you i am not trying to be too discreet". Around 2 minutes into the song it shifts into a raw instrumental, muffled speaking slightly overtaking the rhythmic strums of guitar, making the listener feel immersed within the situation. This authentic sound perfectly captures the feeling portrayed in classic romcoms where time slows down around the main characters, and the music too just becomes background noise. I really enjoyed this part of the track because it really does encapsulate the feeling the singer is trying to describe. Suddenly, the music builds again, slightly faster than before like tension growing. In the midst of all these heavy sounds "you would look better, better with me!" is screamed. Personally, when there are lyrics which can be screamed, it fills me with adrenaline. All I could imagine was this being screamed in a hazy festival field at sunset. As the song draws to a close, the structure is cyclical, repeating how "you would look better with me". Ending with a drum roll and a slightly elongated "you would look better with me" this track is truly one that will be a repeated one in my playlists.

Overall, not only is this single absolutely incredible, but for a debut, this is outstanding. Check out @the_lime_stones on Instagram for more updates!
