A disturbingly beautiful track: 'Casanova - Pleasance'

Emerging from the eclectic Brighton music scene, Pleasance have released their disturbingly beautiful track - Casanova. Released on July 10th, and welcomed into this world by a brilliant first (or 0th?) birthday bash, held at Brighton’s ‘Pink Moon’ where special guests Girl Apocrypha and Grimrite also graced the stage, all there for one purpose - to celebrate the amazing song that is Casanova.

Casanova is the sort of song you would accidentally discover at a festival, and in those 2 minutes 34 seconds, your perception of live music has entirely changed. An act you weren’t expecting to see, but an act that draws you in quickly. The idyllic textures behind every word the singer articulates, leave you feeling each strum, each hit of the drum, and each action the band members take to craft their performance, deep inside your soul. It allows you to appreciate each minute detail that goes into making a song as good as this one. Casanova is addictive, and is a track that truly stays with you, even after only one listen. 

The intimacy of the track only further crafts a long-lasting impression of the song in your mind. The close whispers into the microphone constructs a personal touch to the song, which heightens your emotions as the drums engulph you. Listening to Casanova is an experience, and a beautiful one, it is impossible to sit still as the tension increases alongside the fast competing drums and guitar, which washes through the track in waves, allowing moments of near-silence to emphasise the ethereal vocals which hypnotise you.

Pleasance have truly outdone themselves with this one, what a banger!
