Night Currents - Second Wave

The second wave of Night Currents Festival is here and it's bigger and better than ever! Following the previous wave which revealed names such as Lime Garden, Prima Queen, ARXX, My First Time, Ain’t, and Crysometimes, this Portsmouth day festival has revealed 3 new artists to fill you with vibes on the first Saturday of October. 

Starting off strong with another favourite of Quantize, Brighton based SLAG are going to grace the stage with their magnetic performance full of exhilarating, guitar-driven melodies that beautifully complement the angelic vocals. Check out their debut EP Losing to get a real idea of their sound. 

With her lyrical style compared to the likes of Lily Allen, SOFY is the newest addition to the lineup. If you want to capture the atmosphere of the summer of 2020, a must watch is SOFY’s set. A top track fromSOFY is the colourful ‘Strawberry Milkshake’ which radiates the warmth of bedroom pop. 

Finally, a recent Edge of the Wedge sell-out, Mary Middlefield is set to return to Portsmouth, expect gorgeous, empyrean melodies that have the power to captivate an entire crowd. If you aren’t yet familiar with her work, Will you take me as I am? her latest album is a great place to start!
